Anthropic just announced they’re putting $100 million into a new partner program called the Claude Partner Network. That’s real money, not the kind of vague commitment you see from some companies. And it’s about time they formalized what’s been happening organically.
Claude is already the only frontier AI model available on all three major clouds: AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. That’s a strong position. But getting enterprises to actually use AI effectively is a different beast than just having API access. You need consultancies, system integrators, and specialized firms to bridge the gap between the technology and the messy reality of large organizations.
Steve Corfield, Anthropic’s head of global business development, put it bluntly: “Anthropic is the most committed AI company in the world to the partner ecosystem—and we’re putting $100 million behind that this year to prove it.” I appreciate the directness. No hedging, no corporate weasel words.
The $100 million isn’t just sitting in a fund somewhere. A significant chunk goes directly to partners for training, sales enablement, and market development. They’re also scaling their partner-facing team fivefold, adding Applied AI engineers for live customer deals, technical architects for complex implementations, and localized go-to-market support internationally. That last bit matters more than people realize—AI adoption looks different in Tokyo than it does in San Francisco.
What Partners Actually Get
The Claude Partner Network includes a Partner Portal with training materials from Anthropic Academy, sales playbooks, and co-marketing documentation. Qualified partners get listed in a Services Partner Directory, which is basically a lead generation channel for firms with Claude experience.
They’re also launching the first Claude technical certification: Claude Certified Architect, Foundations. It’s a technical exam for solution architects building production applications with Claude. More certifications for sellers, architects, and developers are coming later this year. Partners who join now get priority access.
There’s also a Code Modernization starter kit. This is smart—legacy codebase migration and technical debt remediation are among the highest-demand enterprise workloads right now. Claude’s agentic coding capabilities actually shine here, so giving partners a structured starting point makes sense.
The Partner Quotes Tell a Story
Anthropic included quotes from several major partners, and they’re worth reading. Accenture is training 30,000 professionals on Claude. Capgemini is working on “industry-focused solutions.” Deloitte has opened Claude access across roughly 350,000 associates. Infosys has a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence.
These aren’t small pilots. These are serious, scaled commitments from firms that don’t throw resources at things that don’t work. The fact that they’re willing to go this deep with Claude says something about the demand they’re seeing from enterprise clients.
What’s Missing
Membership is free, and applications open today. Any organization bringing Claude to market is eligible. That’s good, but I wonder how effectively they’ll manage the quality bar. Too many partners and the directory becomes noise. Too few and you miss the long tail of regional specialists.
The $100 million is for 2026, with expectations to invest more over time. That’s a solid commitment, but the real test will be execution. Partner programs are notoriously hard to run well, especially when the technology is evolving as fast as AI models are.
Bottom Line
This is Anthropic making a serious bet on the channel. They’re not trying to do everything themselves, which is smart. Enterprise AI adoption needs trusted intermediaries who understand compliance, change management, and deployment realities. The $100 million and expanded team suggest they understand that building a partner ecosystem takes real investment, not just a website and some PDFs.
I’ll be watching to see how quickly partners actually get value from this. The certification program is a good start, but the proof will be in whether partners can close deals faster and build better solutions with the support Anthropic is promising.
